I must jump across clouds and climb stairways to collect these fragments, and finally activate the glowing ring at the center to regain what I’ve lost. The work imagines a future where the Royal Academy of Arts in London has been sold to a Chinese billionaire and turned into a luxurious private mansion. In reality, the Royal Academy represents public culture and art education, but in this piece, it is completely commodified, becoming a symbol of wealth and power.
